Consumers Refuse To Accept New Prices – Pure Water Sellers

Consumers Refuse To Accept New Prices – Pure Water Sellers
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Sellers of sachet and bottled water have complained bitterly about the refusal of consumers to accept new prices of mineral water.

The hawkers have lamented over the recent increment in sachet and bottled water following the directive from the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers. (NASPAWAP).

During the previous week, a press statement was released by the Association’s National President, Magnus Nunoo stated that sachet of water which was previously sold at 20 pesewas will be sold for 40pesewas while the 500ml bottled water which was previously 1.00 will now be sold for GH1.50p.

Ghanaweb in a report states that some traders lamented that consumers are refusing to accept the new price. One seller said, “with the previous prices I make a profit of only GHc3 which is very bad and so the new prices increase my profit to some extent”.

“The only problem is that when we mention the new prices to them, they don’t agree. I did not decide to increase the prices by myself. It was announced, so I’m pleading with everyone to accept the prices”.

The hawkers have however pleaded with consumers to accept the new prices and purchase more like they used to.
