A teacher with the Ampadukrom Methodist Primary school within the Mampong Municipal of the Ashanti Region, has been burned to ashes after he was trapped in a building this dawn. Teacher Kwesi Amoako, an English and Religious and Moral Education Teacher, was asleep when the fire started.
Four tenants were able to be rescued but Teacher Amoako could not be rescued after the fire lost control at 12:40 AM. Teacher Amoako, according to eyewitness reporting, shouted and cried for help but nobody could pass through the fire to rescue him until his death.
He was 30 and left behind one child, and a pregnant wife. The wife has been taken to the Mampong Government Hospital where she is receiving treatment. She went into a sudden coma when she heard of the husband’s death.
Though there hasn’t been any development in the wife’s condition, but eyewitnesses accounted that, the wife’s situation was not critical but a mere shock that caused her sudden collapse. The wife is believed to be doing well together with her unborn child, eyewitnesses confirmed.
Case Study
Evans Amoatwi, an eyewitness accounted that, the fire started around midnight when he was going back to his house. Evans, a fried rice seller, had just finished selling his products when he saw a slight smoke coming from the Ohene Adu Memorial House.
The house which is managed by Teacher Kwesi Amoako himself, is a building that belongs to the children of the late Inspector Ohene Adu, the first inspector to be posted to Ampadukrom. The children of the late inspector are all preoccupied and hence, relaid the management of the house to Teacher Kwesi Amoako after he was posted to the town in 2014.
