NDC Suffers Another Fresh Blow In Parliament; Minority Leader Haruna Iddirusu Officially Notified

NDC Suffers Another Fresh Blow In Parliament; Minority Leader Haruna Iddirusu Officially Notified
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The opposition National Democratic Congress caucus in Parliament has been given a fresh blow from the hands of the first deputy speaker Mr.Joe Osei Wusu. The clerk of Parliament Mr. Cyril Nsiah summarised the Constitutional blow in an official letter addressed to Honorable Haruna Iddirusu( Minority Leader).

Well, despite the NDC caucus is trying hard to remove the “MINORITY NAME TAG”, that was what was used in the official letter to address their Leader Haruna Iddirusu.

We could recall that, the Minority Leader raised a motion about the 2022 budget challenging the deputy speaker’s ruling to be null and void. He also wrote to the leadership of Parliament to table a fresh motion. Many supporters of the NDC were happy because they felt that the motion could open another chance for the budget to be rejected.

In this letter dated 10th November 2021, the second deputy speaker Mr.Joe Osei Wusu stood on Parliamentary standing order (13) to unambiguously state that Haruna Iddirusu’s motion has been rejected.

Rejection of the motion means there will be no debate about the subject ( budget).

Well, that’s it. Law is law. The NDC can’t hold Parliament in ransom. Check out the official release below.
