Yesterday 30th November 2021, was dramatic in the Aflao circuit court when Gilbert Akakpo realised that his WASSCE results will arrive while he is in jail. His mother couldn’t control herself as she collapsed in tears. Many people blamed her for not using that tears to opt for an out of court settlement than getting a lawyer for her son over this wicked act.
In August 2021, Gilbert Akakpo was arrested for attempting to slash his teacher’s head into two with a machete. This was after the teacher who teaches ICT had prevented him from bullying a first year student.
The teacher had to block the machete with his hand. That resulted in a deep cut with blood oozing. The case was reported to the Police and the student was subsequently arrested. The bravado and arrogance of the boy led him to court as his lawyer tried to kill the case with light arguments which didn’t work.
In the court’s own wisdom, Gilbert Akakpo is jailed for 120 days (4 months). This should be a lesson for all.
