Richard Ahiagbah, the former Executive Director of the Danquah Institute has been appointed as the Deputy Director of Research at the Jubilee House.

The appointee who is coming into office with vast experience has a background in policy research, legislative lobbying and regulatory reform and will be expected to assist Dr Isaac Owusu-Mensah.

His arrival in office is expected to help spearhead activities at the research directorate. The Presidency during the start of the second term of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s term announced scrapping of the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation and added that such development has caused a revamp of the research directorate.

According to the Presidency, the research directorate, among other things, will monitor and assess all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, conduct surveys to test the viability and impact of government policies, and gauge public opinion.

Mr Ahiagbah in 2012, was a field organiser for then President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, a role he reportedly performed on other senatorial and gubernatorial elections in the United States.

He had earlier worked at the Fiscal Policy Centre and also as a Legislative Liaison for Oneok Hydrocarbons in the United States.
