Ghana’s representatives at the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League, Hasaacas Ladies, have qualified to the semi-finals of the competition after holding host club, Wadi Degla, to an entertaining 2-2 draw at the 30 June stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Yusif Basigi’s side went into the game needing a draw to progress to the next stage of the competition after winning their first two games of the tournament.
Jasmine Zachwieja opened the scoring for Wadi Degla before Faustina Aidoo equalised for Hasaacas Ladies.
Wadi Degla found the back of the net once more before the end of the first half through a brilliant free kick from Noha Elsolh.
But just four minutes into the second-half, Hasaacas Ladies drew level yet again through Veronica Appiah to remain unbeaten in the competition.
The result sees Hasaacas Ladies top Group A with seven points, with a record 8 goals scored in the group phase, more than any other team.
