Be Lenient In Your Judgments, Mahama Told

The Director of communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin has asked the former President John Dramani Mahama to be lenient in his judgments and allow the government to perform its functions.

He made this known in a press briefing at the jubilee house on Thursday, November 11, 2021. “Everybody in Ghana acknowledges that there are hardships, even the President himself has acknowledged it, that is why every effort is being put in place to make sure that these hardships are relieved”, he said.

This comment from Eugene Arhin, follows Mr. Mahama’s observation at his public lecture after his “thank you” tour that, the current state of affairs is not in its best as the Akufo-Addo led administration is steadily nearing the end of its first year after being retained as the President of the republic of Ghana for the second term.

Mr. Mahama further described the government’s handling of the affairs of the citizenry as a ‘common national tragedy’. Mr Arhin reacted to this statement and reiterated that, the government is aware of the rather unfortunate situations confronting Ghanaians and is working tirelessly to relieve of the citizens of their afflictions.

“It is not as if this government is sitting down and has thrown its hands in despair and waiting for a divine intervention from the almighty, we are going ahead to do whatever we have to do to relieve Ghanaians,” he said.

He attributed these happenings to the outbreak of the global pandemic, COVID 19 and said that the government is poised to revamp the economy to the benefit of all Ghanaians.
