There has been series of events evolving around the NABCO scheme and although the contract has expanded. There has not been any official communiqué to suggest that NABCO trainees should leave their places of work so most of them are still working in their respective workplaces without any challenges.
The national president of NABCO Trainees Association; Dennis Opoku Katakyie earlier stated on Plan B Fm that, the president of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, promised to have a package for NABCO trainees if he wins election to remain in office for a second term.
According to Opoku Katakyie, members of the association expect the President to fulfil his promise now that he has been retained as the President after he won the 2020 general election. He believes that the situation on the number of unemployed youth in this country will reduce drastically.
He alleged that, some people are sabotaging this course by politicizing the issue and making it look like they are all NPP supporters. These people are harnessing mediums to ensure that their pleas are not heard. He noted that it will do a lot good if the President spoke about the issue and explained that silence on the part of the president has created a lot of uncertainty.
Dennis Opoku further mentioned that, the presence of NABCO trainees in some institutions cannot be downplayed because they have worked really hard and their absence will create great vacuums in these sectors.
