The police in the Western region say they are still searching for 41-year-old Cosmos Amponsah, branch manager of Sefwi Wiawso rural bank who allegedly bolted with huge sum of money, savings of the clients of the bank.
Cosmos Amponsah was declared wanted by the Wester North Regional Police Command a couple of days ago when he failed to report for work for a number of days. Officials of the bank could not find monies they have received from clients. Subsequent investigations pointed to the fact that Cosmos may have fled with the money; a situation which made the other bank officials lodged complaint with the police.
He is said to have also duped some unsuspecting clients of the bank before going into hiding.
The Police say as part of effort to arrest him, it has secured a warrant of arrest to look for Cosmos who is suspected to be hiding in either Accra, Kasoa, Mason Amenfi, Ankasie, Wassa Obin, Tarkwa, Bogoso, Wassa Achechire, Tarkwa-Abosso, Kumasi and Asankragwa.
A warrant has now been issued for his arrest should he be found. The Police has promised a reward for anyone who is able to help find Cosmos who is has gone into hiding after bolting with the huge sum of money.
