The Ghana Police Service’s fight against armed robbery in the country seem to be yielding positive result as two suspected armed robbers have been shot dead with another member of their gang currently battling for his life in an unnamed medical facility as a result gun shots wound.
In a released statement dated today, October 27, 2021 and signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Kwesi Ofori, acting Direct-General, Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, the police narrated that the incident occurred in the Bono East and Savannah Regions when a combined team of highly trained Operations and Intelligence Team broke into a criminal cell in the two regions and subsequently killed the two alleged robbers around Bole in the Savannah Region.
The statement continued that the gang of robbers were allegedly planning another robbery attack and were reported to have opened fire on the police when they were closing in on them. The highly trained police team did not waste time as they returned fire which subsequently led to the death of Iddrisu and Dramani Iddi.
According to the police, the alleged notorious leader of the gang who is mentioned as All Iguclu, reportedly sustained gunshot wounds and is responding to treatment under a Police guard in an unnamed medical facility. The police have alleged that he is the mastermind behind the murder of one Alhaji Ousman Amadu and Fuseini Galagala among others.
The statement further pointed out that the gang is largely responsible for the series of robberies, kidnappings and murder cases in the two regions especially in the areas of Bole, Sawla, Banda-Nkwanta, Prang, Yeji, Kintampo, New Longoro and Techiman.
