The founder and flagbearer of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, has narrated her ordeal at the hands of some unknown men who attacked her at gun point and made away with an amount of GH¢7,000.
According to the politician the said men stormed her office and after exchanging pleasantries with her introduced them to her as members of her political party. She continued that she least expected them to be armed robbers.
“I happily accepted them because they claimed to be members of my party Ghana Freedom Party. They gave me words of encouragement to continue fighting for Ghana because they are with me, ” Akua Donkor explained on Angel FM.
“When I was ready to go home, they pleaded to join my vehicle so that I drop them on the way. As staunch supporters of my party, I obliged not knowing they were there to kill me “Akua Donkor added.
She pointed out that the men waited until they had left her office and were heading towards the direction of her house when they suddenly pulled out their guns and ordered my driver to stop or else they will shoot and kills us. One of them, according to her, kept shaking his head and said that he had a change of mind. This was because they have been sent to kill her. She further commented that one of them said he saw her as an innocent woman hence the decision to spare her life.
“They took away my 7000 Ghana Cedis in exchange of killing me. They told me a secret to be very careful and they bolted “Akua Donkor sadly revealed.
She believed her attackers were kind to her so she is finding it difficult to report them to the police. She fears that if she reports, the killers may get angry and attack her again.
