The driver of a white 2009 registered Toyota Hiace is nowhere to be found after a deadly crash on the R62 road last night. The driver, Micah Yeboah, according to the minibus attendant, Christopher Afful, has since not been found after he made a loud shout before crashing the vehicle at the Akroso forest on the Winneba to Akim Oda road.

He shouted, and we couldn’t see him again after we all woke up in the hospital, front-seat passengers of the car stated as medical officers of Akroso SDA Hospital and Akroso Police kept searching the entire accident scenes for the missing driver, Micah Yeboah. It hasn’t been confirmed, but it is alleged Micah may have not been part of the injured victims due to the narration the passengers gave.

Evening shift medical officers of Akroso SDA hospital were making rounds when three men in a pickup truck drove eight wounded victims to the hospital. With blood everywhere, the three men alleged that they were coming to Akroso when they met the wounded victims on the road after their car had collapsed on the left side of the Akroso Forest.

Among the wounded victims, was the minibus attendant, Christopher Afful, who was helping the hospital officials take account of the total number of people in the car before the accident. Christopher had stated a total number of seven people in the car excluding the driver, and all the seven people including himself were all at the hospital except the driver.

With over three hours of searching the area last night, the rescue team together with the Akroso Police concluded the driver might have fallen somewhere but passengers of the car are of the view, the driver vanished before thee accident. He made a loud shout, I can’t remember the exact words, the front seat passengers; Emmanuel Ansah and Nyantakyi Felix told the police at the hospital this morning.

Both Felix and Emmanuel, front-seat passengers, had confirmed many of the passengers were asleep while the car moved from Akim Oda to Akroso but they were not, because of the direct car stereos they were facing at the front seat. The bus attendant, Christopher Afful, did also confirmed he heard a similar sound before the accident but didn’t know where it came from.

It could have been from anywhere, Christopher stated. Akroso police are still on the look for the driver as a search party continues to search the area for the driver. The cause of the accident is still not known, but Emmanuel, one of the front seat passengers alleged the driver might have seen something on the road and that made him lose control of the car. No causalities were recorded except a few minor injuries and two seriously injured middle roll passengers.
