Asankrangua Police Command of the Amenfi West District has confirmed that they have found the 49-year-old woman who went missing on 15 September 2021 at Afaci near the Asankrangua Community Town Park.
Alice Womewour, was found last night after a tip-off was given to the husband, Mr Womewour of the whereabouts of his missing wife. She was found with a pale body and several losses of blood, which made the Police rush her to the Asankrangua Thomas Hospital (ATH) near the central mosque, where she is receiving treatment.
Alice hasn’t spoken since last night but she is doing well, the husband briefed. One person as of now has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and attempting to skin Alice to death. The police with their ongoing investigations are of the view that Monica Addai, 28, was the one behind the over a month disappearance of Alice Womewour. Monica, still in police cells awaiting a possible court hearing on Tuesday 26 October, is accused of kidnapping and attempting to kill.
Monica has not confirmed her intentions of kidnapping Alice but the tip which came from the anonymous person, had suggested, Monica wanted Alice gone so she could take over as the wife of Patrick Womewour. Patrick Womewour, the husband of Alice Womewour, the victim, is the one Monica was after and since she couldn’t get him, she developed a plan to take away his wife so she Monica, could become the wife of Patrick.
Patrick Womewour, has a three year old son with Monica but that, was in 2017 and Patrick has since broken that relationship with her but continues making monthly contribution towards the boy’s life. Patrick and his wife Alice, had been living a comfortable life after the two renew their vows of holy matrimony in 2018, after his involvement with Monica in 2017.
Monica has since then, tried secretly to win the care of her baby father back but that hasn’t been successful for her until last month, when she phoned Mrs Alice Womewour with a different number and lured her to a place before kidnapping her. Monica had kept the aged woman in a guest room without feeding her, waiting for her to die of hunger before dumping the body away, but was arrested last night when a tip reach Patrick Womewour of Monica’s involvement in his missing wife.
Patrick together with the police, surrounded and searched the entire house of Monica before finding Alice; the victim in a guest room at Monica’s house. Monica kept Alice on the cold floor with nothing for her to use, no food to eat and no water to bath for the over one month and kept waiting for her to die.
