A bread seller has been crashed to death on the Ahenema Kokoben Highway, in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti region by a truck.
A Kia cargo with registration number AS 8711-13 claimed the life of the bread seller named Anokyewaa on Wednesday afternoon, October 13, 2021.
This radio station’s interaction with an eyewitness, who is a meat-pie sell by the roadside, disclosed that the cargo truck was heading the direction of Obuasi. He allegedly lost control of his wheel during the trip and in an attempt to avoid running into some parked vehicles by the roadside near a filling station, ended up crashing the Anokyewaa, the bread seller thereby killing her instantly.
According to the meat-pie seller, a plantain chip seller drew her attention when she realized that the cargo truck was approaching their direction in award manner thereby compelling her to flee from where she was standing. She added that she too in an attempt to help save the life of Anokyewaa, shouted at her to leave where she was hawking her bread.
“Sadly the same direction she attempted using to avoid being hit by the cargo truck is the same route the vehicle used and in the end crashed her to death” the meat-pie remarked.
A police team from the area later arrived at the scene and retrieved the body. The driver of the truck is currently in police custody assisting the police with investigation in the accident.
