Plan-B FM, a commercial radio station under FreeMinds Communication Company Limited which broadcast from Tema in the Greater Accra region on a frequency of 104.5 has donated some food items and toiletries to ‘Save The Young’ a home for underprivileged children at Bethlehem, a suburb of Ashaiman.
The donation which was made today, Saturday, October 2, 2021 forms part of the radio station’s corporate social responsibility plan to give back to society.
The General Manager of Plan-B FM, Mr. Frederick Aniagyei, in an interview shortly after the presentation of the donated items, noted that the decision to donate to the home of the underprivileged was to lessen the burden of the owners who must always ensure that the children are well catered for on daily basis.
According to him Plan-B FM has identified that as a challenge for a lot of such facilities hence the radio station’s decision to donate the aforementioned items which he believes will go a long way to ensure the continued care for inmate of the facility.
He explained that Plan-B FM used one of its contents, a ‘Live-Worship’ dubbed ‘Aseda Mmere’ led by its renowned host, Apostle Kingsley Agyenim Boateng to mobilize fund for the purchase of the donated items. He particularly thanked Apostle Agyenim Boateng and the listeners of Plan-B FM for their support. Continuing, he urged them to continue to stay tuned to Plan-B FM adding that all contents are tailored to suit their listening and viewing demands for radio and for Facebook live streaming.
Pastor Isaac Anderson of Peniel Outreach Ministries International and an assistant to Apostle Kingsley Agyenim Boateng, who was part of the Plan-B FM’s delegation to the underprivileged home, noted that the donation was in line with the requirements of the Bible’s teaching which encourages support for the needy.
He mentioned that the head pastor of Peniel Outreach Ministries International, Apostle Agyenim Boateng is himself someone who loves to support the needy is his Christian faith teaches and added that his head pastor will continue to use the platform to propagate the teachings of Jesus Christ.
On behalf Plan-B FM and Apostle Agyenim Boateng, Pastor Isaac Anderson thanked all the listeners who donated and those who could not do so for their support and asked for God’s blessings over their lives.
Linda Amoabeng who represented the founder of the ‘Save Them Young’ Rev, Dr. Collin Opoku Amoabeng to receive the donated items thanked Plan-B FM for such a kind gesture. She said the donated items could not have come at a time better than this when things are extremely hard for them as an underprivileged home.
Continuing, she noted that ‘Save Them Young’ is Non-Governmental Organization whose aims are to reach out to the underprivileged, school drop-outs, street children and teenage mothers and teach them viable vocation in order for them to support themselves and become productive members of society.
She further noted that the facility also cares for children with mental disabilities and children who have been abandoned by their parents.
She promised that the home will use the items for the purpose for which they were handed over to the facility. Concluding she pointed that the facility needs such donations from corporate bodies and members of the general public so as to keep the home running effectively and efficiently.
