Following a sexual assault report by investigative journalist Manasseh Awuni, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nature’s Hand Therapeutic Centre, one “Dr.” Jonathan Ohene Nkunim, was detained by the police.
The suspect, who calls himself a “doctor by profession and a gospel [sic] minister by calling” on social media, was captured on tape rapping several female clients who had come to his facility for medical treatment.
He allegedly colluded with state officials to obtain bogus certifications from the Traditional Medicine Practice Council, according to the video (TMPC).
In response to the report, the TMPC stated that Jonathan Ohene Nkunim and his facility had been granted two licenses.
According to the TMPC, he was granted a license as a “Herbal Medicine Practitioner” and his institution was designated as a “Indigenous Facility.”
The two licenses they said would expire on May 30, 2021, according to a letter signed by Nelson Menorkpor, the TMPC director of administration.
According to the police, the money for the license was GHc3000, which was taken from Jonathan Ohene Nkunim by an individual named Hilary.
The license was then processed by Anthony Agyapong of the TMPC GHc1000, who was paid by Hilary. In exchange, Anthony Agyapong paid the TMPC GHc750 as the official price for the license, which was processed and printed for Ohene Nkunim.
Following his caution for rape and the collection of witness statements, including one from his victim.
“Dr.” Akunim was accused with rape in Kaneshie District Court and his bail request was refused.
