The President of Coalition of Rotational Nurses, Wutor Cosmos Venunye has indicated that its individual will pursue their strike action starting October 1, 2021 if there is no response from government on their allowances.

According to Mr. Venunye the allowances of 11,223 nurses have not been paid for 8 months since they started their required one-year public assistance in February 2021.

Speaking on PLAN B FM’s Show dubbed Ebaanosen, he indicated that this has become necessary because failure to pay their allowances by the government has brought untold difficulty on its members.

“Our members are suffering, and complaining bitterly about the unpaid salaries since we started working”, he stressed.

He further indicated that its individuals, despite unpaid salaries for 8 months worked because of the passion and love its members has for the job.

However, according to them the inability of the government to pay their salaries is as a result of the calmness of its members.

“The government and its appointees are reluctant on our salaries because of how calm our people are, because the amount we are supposed to be paid is not even up to 1000 Ghana cedis”, he said.

According to the association, authorities have not provided any reason associated with the delay in the payment of their salaries.
