President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced his first nominee for Metropolitan, Municipal, District Chief Executive (MMDCE).
The President made this announcement on his tour of the Western North region, Sunday.
The President announcing his nominee for Sefwi Akontombra said “As the MP and the Chief said that they want Hon Amoah Yawson to be maintained as DCE for Akontombra, I announce my first MMDCE appointment, Hon Amoah Yawson is my first DCE nominee, Nana Addo”.
The President acknowledged that he has heard concerns been expressed by the Public over the delay in the announcements.
Meanwhile, the President has said that “the last time we were in office we found ourselves making new appointments before the elections. I want to make sure of the people I am calling to help me. It is not an easy task. There is the need for a broad consultation, that is what I have done”.
Adding that “I set up committees to make recommendations, I have to make sure that the recommendations would suit the political purposes of the government. By the end of September, everything would be resolved”.
