The Kontihene of Ejura, Odiasempa Antwi Obugyei II, has condemned the rambo style method employed by the military personnel to disperse the crowd that had gathered in protest following the burial of social activist, Ibrahim Mohammed.
Two persons lost their lives and four others sustained varying degrees of injuries after some residents clashed with the security officers at Ejura on Tuesday.
The residents are reported to have pelted stones at the officers who had been deployed to the area during the burial of the late social activist, Ibrahim Muhammed
Ibrahim Muhammed aka Kaaka died on Monday, June 28, 2021, after he was attacked by a mob when he was returning home on his motorbike on Sunday.
In an interview with Ohene Addo on Plan B FM ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ , the Kontihene of Ejura condemns the attack on the protesters by the military personnel describing it as “unprofessional” and has call and has called on the government to “investigate the circumstances that led to the unfortunate incident”
“The conduct of the security officers was not professional. We’ve been engaging the youth not to take the law into their hands and also ensure that peace prevail in the community since the incident happened. Its unfortunate how things turn out.
“We want the government to deal with those who committed this heinous crime against Kaaka and also the security officer who fired live bullets into the crowd,” he said.
