A video which is being circulated on social media suggest that the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has closed down the meat section of the Accra of the Accra Mall branch of Shoprite’s meat section.

The video which went viral captures a scene where certain persons believe to be officials of the FDA closing down the meat section on Tuesday, June 16, 2021.

Even though Plan-B FM is yet to ascertain the reason behind the closure, it believes that the closure follows what is said to be the selling of thawed imported frozen chicken as fresh local chicken.

It is believed that the FDA has not only closed that section of the Accra Mall Shoprite but indications is that the FDA may be taking a similar action at all other branches of Shoprite in Ghana.

At the time of filling this story the FDA was yet to make an official statement on its action.
