The acting Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapim South, Frank Aidoo has called on assembly members and law-abiding citizens to help fight Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) activities in the country adding that such sexual acts are not identified with Ghanaians.
He said it was about time illegalities and criminality were treated with the contempt that they deserved and appealed to the law enforcement agencies to assist in breaking the canker which has reared its ugly head in some Ghanaian communities.
Hon Frank Aidoo who made the call in a in an exclusive interview with Plan-b reporter, Kaakyire Kwabena Osei, said the phenomenon of criminality has taken a sizable number of the youth and added that more youth continue to get involve in these immoral act.
He urged community leaders to rise up against these barbaric acts to save the youth of this country from engaging in this shameful and evil act. He noted that the activities of LGBTQI has tendency to destroy the future of this country.
According to him, assembly members live with some of the members of LGBTQI in their various communities and should have more information about the locations where some of these LGBTQI activities take place.
Continuing he pointed out that the country could eliminate this canker, if the community members are ready to help in the fight against it with the help of state security agencies.
“The LGBTQI people live with us in the same community. Some members of our societies know these people and where they are located as well as some of the activities they engage in”, he added.
He therefore charge the Assembly members to give out information about this activist to the police for arrest.
He further disclosed to Plan-b news that crime rate at Akuapim south can be stopped if the residents support the police by divulging information on crime related activities to them.
Concluding, he noted that the security of their area is a shared responsibility and therefore called for the support of all, to actively get involved by providing information to the security agencies for the necessary action to be taken.
