Power FM Presenter Detained in Police Custody

Power FM’s Oheneba Boamah has been detained by the police for allegedly threatening H.E President Akufo-Addo.

The presenter on Monday, December 14, 2020 was invited by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following a viral video.

In the said video, the journalist was seen threatening the president and hurling insults at him over claims that the President was meeting some justices of the Supreme Court over a possible election petition.

In a statement issued by the CID and available to Plan B FM, it disclosed that the journalist is in custody for further action.

According to the statement, the suspect has been cautioned on the offences of “Offensive Conduct Conducive to Breaches of the Peace and Publication of False News contrary to sections 207 and 208(1) respectively of the Criminal and Other Offenses Act, Act 29/60.
