The Electoral Commission (EC) has discredited rumors of its official being arrested by the Ghana Police Service.
In a statement sighted by Plan B FM, the Electoral Commission disclosed that’s its outfit has been alerted of a fake news trending on social media platforms claiming the arrest of an official from the Commission in Somanya within the Eastern Region of Ghana.
According to the Electoral Commission, the fake news further claimed that the EC official reduced the vote count the National Democratic Congress Presidential Candidate, John Mahama by 3000.
In concluding the statement, the Commission urged the public to disregard the news pointing out that it is fake and should be treated as such.
