One Killed, 22 Injured In Metro Mass Transit Bus Accident

A Metro Mass transit bus carrying twenty-six (26) passengers has crashed on a bridge resulting in the death of one passenger with twenty-two (22) others sustaining various degrees of injuries.

The accident occurred Sunday evening at about 6:00pm on a bridge over the river Supon at Osenase on Asamankese to Kade road.

The Bus with registration number GG 3973-09 was transporting the passengers from Koforidua towards Tiakama Nkwanta on Osenase-Oda road.

Speaking with Akwatia Police Commander DSP Yaw Dankwah Agyekum, he disclosed to Plan B FM News that according to the driver, while descending a hill towards the bridge he lost control of the steering wheel crashing against the wall of the bridge and landing across the road to block it from both sides.

One passenger was pronounced dead while 22 sustaining various degrees of injuries were rushed to St. Dominic Hospital in Akwatia, Osenase Health Center and Asamankese Hospital for treatment.
