Gabby Otchere-Darko, a prominent private legal practitioner who is also a Senior partner at African Legal Associates and a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has advised members of the NPP to ignore issues surrounding immediate past Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu and get back to the campaign trail.
In a tweet sighted by Plan B FM, he said, “NPP, it’s time to move on, completely. If NDC wants to make their new best friend Martin their campaign’s last straw let them hold on to it.”
“Get back on message, you have a positive story to tell and to secure a second time.”, he added.
Mr Amidu cited what he described as “political interference in the independence of his office” as the main reason for his decision to resign.
Additionally, he said, his office was given inadequate staff who were mostly on secondment, a situation that made it nearly impossible for his outfit to effectively carry out its mandate.
