Residents of Kpone and its environs in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality have bemoaned the bad nature of their roads and appealed to government to repair them.
Speaking to Plan B FM, some residents of Kpone described their roads as very bad; one that does not befit a community like theirs.
Other residents also disclosed that, the poor road network has resulted in undue increment in transportation fares especially that of ‘Trotro’ with reference to the Ashaiman – New Land/Apolonia route. “This has further increased our cost of living”, they lamented.
Referencing the declaration made by the President of the Republic naming 2020 as a year of roads, the residents called on him to consider renovating and rebuilding their roads.
According to them, they have complained severally to the Assembly for years but these complaints have fallen on deaf ears.
They also stressed that the roads become muddy and unusable whenever it rains. As a result, drivers are reluctant to ply the roads hence, higher fares are charged by the few who decided to do use the route.
Winding up, they called on politicians and the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly to fulfil the numerous road promises made to them.
