Manchester United have strengthened their defence with the £18million signing of Porto left-back Alex Telles.
One day after conceding six times to Tottenham, the Red Devils have recruited Telles with the 27-year-old putting pen to paper on transfer deadline day.
The Red Devils spent weeks pursuing the Brazilian, however there was a initial stand-off in theirs and the Portuguese club’s valuation of the player.
Telles is known as an attacking full-back and turned heads with 13 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season.
He’s picked up from where he’s left off this term with two goals and two assists in three Primeira Liga matches.
Telles, who has been linked with Chelsea in recent years, has a huge admirer in none other than legendary defender Roberto Carlos.
Speaking in 2016, his fellow countryman said: “Alex is a phenomenon. He is another player who, before long, will be part of the national team.
“He is not Roberto Carlos, but he’s very good.”
