CPC Opens Kasoa Sales Outlet As Part Of World Heart Day Celebration

Cocoa Processing Company (CPC) has as part of World Heart Day celebration, opened a sales Outlet at the Kasoa Lorry Station.

The World Heart Day is a day instituted by the World Heart Federation to be celebrated on September 29 every year.

Speaking at a ceremony to celebrate the day, Nana Agyenim Boateng I, Managing Director of CPC, noted that the objective of the celebration among others is to use use the day as a platform to create awareness that Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in the world.

He continued that it is on record that CVD claims about 17.9 million lives each year.

“World Heart Day therefore provides an opportunity for individuals, families, communities and government around the world to unite in the fight against CVD”, Nana Agyenim Boateng I remarked and added that fight CVD is everybody’s business.

According to him it is for that reason that the CPC is involved in activities aimed at promoting the World Heart Day celebrations and has chosen Kasoa due to its strategic importance in linking Greater Accra region and the Central region as the venue for this year’s celebration.

“As producers of the world’s premium and high quality GoldenTree cocoa and chocolate confectionery products, we carry a great responsibility of getting involved in the prevention and control of CVD”, he concluded
