Ex-Asante Kotoko Assistant Coach Sarfo Castro Backs Club’s Decision To Participate In Africa

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Assistant Coach, Sarfo Castro has lauded the club’s decision to compete in the 2020-21 CAF Champions League describing it as a step in the right direction.

The Porcupine Warriors have resolved to represent Ghana in the elite continental championship amid the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Speaking to Tema-0based radio station Plan B FM on the Ka Wadwen Sports Show; the former Okwawu United coach believes it would be in the best interest of the Club to participate in Africa if they still want to be recognized as one of the successful Clubs in Africa.

“I think it’s a good thing for Kotoko to go to the Champions League; I will urge the supporters and Asanteman to rally behind the team when they play in Africa.”

“The team should do their best and qualify to the money zone but it will depend on hardwork and determination”, he added

“Kotoko need to go out there to make Ghana proud to get experience and aslo beef up their squad” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Sarfo Castro has heaped praises on Black Stars Coach C.K Akunnor for naming a strong and a young team for the Black Stars. He opined that it was about time we gave young footballers the chance to play for the national team.

On Friday, Akunnor unveiled a list of 23 players for the upcoming fixture between Mali on October 9 in Turkey.
