Two young girls, aged 9 and 14, have been accused of stealing GH₵40,000 and an unspecified amount of gold from a gold-buying shop, Business Gold Agent, located at Twifo Praso, the district capital of Twifo Atti-Morkwa in the Central Region.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at around 11:38 am, which coincided with a bustling market day in the district.

Reports indicate that the girls initially visited the shop to purchase mercury, locally known as Med.

Finding the shop attendant absent, they allegedly searched the premises and made away with the money and gold.

The act was uncovered thanks to CCTV footage, which revealed the girls’ actions during their visit.
