Tragic crash leaves communities in mourning as authorities launch a manhunt for the fleeing driver.

Eight people have lost their lives, and six others sustained injuries in a tragic accident on the Akyem Boadua road in the Eastern Region.

The fatal crash occurred in the early hours of Friday, March 7, 2025. According to reports, five victims died instantly, while three others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

The vehicle, traveling from Kade to Accra, was allegedly speeding despite the driver’s unfamiliarity with the route.

Passengers reportedly pleaded with him to slow down, but their warnings were ignored.

Shortly after passing Adankrono and heading toward Pentemtwam, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to poor visibility caused by overgrown bushes along the roadside.

The vehicle somersaulted seven times, leaving behind a scene of devastation.

Shockingly, the driver fled the scene following the crash, leaving behind the injured and the deceased.

Authorities have since launched a search for him as investigations continue.
