Fire Guts Mile 7 Market In Accra

A truck carrying second-hand clothes caught fire on the Accra-Kumasi highway near the Paradise Exclusive Resort at Bunso, causing panic and traffic disruption on Wednesday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire broke out suddenly, quickly engulfing the truck and its contents. Fortunately, the driver and his assistant managed to escape without injury.

However, the entire consignment of second-hand clothes was destroyed in the blaze.

Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded quickly and worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames.

Despite their efforts, bystanders criticized the firefighters for their perceived inefficiency and poor handling of the situation.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire, with faulty wiring or overheating within the vehicle being suspected as potential factors.
