Six Junior High School (JHS) students have been apprehended by the police in connection with the alleged rape of two female students at the Gada M/A Basic School in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

According to a UTV report, nine male students who were returning from an inter-school gala competition on Friday, February 21, 2025, ambushed the victims around 6:00 PM and forcibly dragged them into a nearby bush where the assault occurred.

The traumatised victims reported the incident to their parents, who subsequently alerted school authorities.

The police in the area were notified, leading to the arrest of the six suspects.

However, three individuals, including a recent JHS graduate, remain at large while the police have launched a manhunt to locate the three suspects.
