The Asonkore SSNIT community in the Obuasi East Municipal Assembly has been thrown into shock following a violent home invasion that left a 42‑year‑old man dead in the early hours of Saturday, December 13, 2025.

According to a myjoyonline.com report, Bismark Yaw Sarfo Danso was attacked and killed inside his residence by unidentified assailants.

Preliminary reports indicate that the incident occurred between 1:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., when a gang of three armed men forced their way into the house.

His wife, Comfort Mensah, recounted the terrifying ordeal in an interview with Adom News Correspondent Isaac K.

She said the intruders ransacked the home before carrying out the attack, making away with cash, a laptop, and other valuables, suggesting that the incident may have begun as a robbery.

The killing has since been elevated to a high‑priority homicide investigation. The Obuasi Divisional Police Command has begun probing the circumstances surrounding the attack.

In a development that has surprised many residents, police have detained the deceased’s younger brother for questioning as part of efforts to explore all possible angles, including potential internal involvement.

Comfort Mensah confirmed the arrest and commended the swift response of the police.

The body of Bismark Yaw Sarfo Danso has been deposited at a mortuary in the Ashanti Region for a post‑mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

The Obuasi Divisional Police Command is appealing to the public for information that could assist in the ongoing investigation.
