2026 World Cup final draw nears as ticket sales surge past two million mark

Excitement continues to build ahead of the Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026, with nearly two million tickets already sold across the first two sales phases.

Fans from 212 countries and territories have secured seats, with the highest demand coming from residents of the United States, Canada and Mexico, followed by strong interest from England, Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Argentina and France.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulated early buyers and reminded supporters that the next opportunity to apply begins on 11 December, shortly after the Final Draw in Washington DC.

FIFA’s Chief Operating Officer, Heimo Schirgi, noted the global enthusiasm, adding that the opening match in Mexico City is now fewer than 200 days away.

The third ticketing window, known as the Random Selection Draw, opens on 11 December and closes on 13 January. Fans will be able to apply for single-match tickets based on confirmed group-stage match-ups following the release of the full schedule. Supporters of qualified nations may also apply for Participating Member Association tickets, subject to eligibility rules set by each federation.

Hospitality packages, which include match tickets, remain available at FIFA’s official site.

FIFA urged fans to purchase tickets only from official channels, noting that a match ticket does not guarantee entry into any of the host nations.

Supporters travelling to the United States may benefit from the newly introduced FIFA Priority Appointment Scheduling System for visa appointments.
