2025 UNITY CUP: Super Eagles down Black Stars in London

Black Stars 2

The Black Stars of Ghana have suffered a 2-1 defeat to West African rivals Nigeria in an invitational friendly.

Cyriel Dessers and Semi Ajayi scored one each in the first 20 minutes of the first half to stun the Black Stars.

Nations FC captain Razack Simpson endured a nightmare start to the game as second-half substitute Brandon Thomas-Asante, halved the deficit for Ghana in the 70th minute.

The Coventry City striker’s second-ever goal for Ghana appeared to have re-energiSed the Ghanaians as they battle to draw the game level.

Nigeria remained resolute and, with a little bit of luck, walked away as the winner of the day, but still, Ghana’s jollof remains the best.

The Nigerians will take on Jamaica in the final of the 2025 Unity Cup on Saturday, May 31, while Ghana square off with Trinidad and Tobago for third place finish.
