The Black Stars of Ghana have safely arrived in Libya for a critical second-leg encounter against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
This fixture marks the second meeting between the two sides, as Ghana aims to improve its standing in Group F.
The first leg, held at the Accra Sports Stadium, ended in a frustrating 0-0 draw. Despite dominating possession and creating chances, the Black Starscould not break through Sudan’s defense, leaving head coach Otto Addo and his team under increased pressure to deliver results.
Currently sitting in third place with just two points from two games, Ghana’s path to AFCON qualification is growing narrower.
A win in the upcoming match is now vital for the team to strengthen their hopes of advancing to the tournament, which will be hosted in Morocco next year.
Before their departure, the Black Stars held their final training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 12.
After arriving in Libya tonight, the Black Stars will continue preparations with a mandatory training session at the Martyrs of February Stadium on Monday.
Tuesday’s match, scheduled to kick off at 13:00 GMT, will be decisive.
Otto Addo’s squad must secure a win against a resilient Sudan side led by former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah. With their qualification campaign hanging in the balance, all eyes are on the Black Stars to rise to the occasion and claim a crucial victory.
