The Confederation of African Football(CAF) has completed the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage draw in Morocco and the 24 nations set to battle for Africa’s flagship football tourney now know their opponents for the task ahead.
At a colourful ceremony held in Rabat and hosted by international movie star Djimon Honssou and Nabila Kilani, the 24 national sides have been grouped into six groups of four where the top two from each group qualify to the knockout stage.
In addition, four best third-placed teams from the six groups will join the already-qualified twelve sides.
In group A, hosts Morocco will battle it out with 2012 winners, Zambia, Mali and Comoros.
Defending champions Cote d’Ivoire are playing against Cameroon, Gabon and Mozambique.
The opening match for the tournament is between Morocco and Comoros on December 21, 2025.

Group B: Egypt, South Africa, Angola, Zimbabwe
Group C: Nigeria, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania
Group D: Senegal, DR Congo, Benin, Botswana
Group E: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan
Group F: Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Gabon, Mozambique
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations kicks off on December 21, 2025, and ends 18th January, 2025.
Morocco will host Africa in 9 venues based in 6 host cities; Rabat, Agadir, Fez, Casablanca, Tangier and Marrakesh.
