West Ham United star, Mohammed Kudus, won the ultimate prize at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards after he was named the Footballer of the Year on June 29, 2024.
Kudus, at the event held at the Accra International Conference Centre, beat competition from ex-Red Star Belgrade forward Osman Bukari, Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams to win the award for the second consecutive year.
After claiming the award, the 23-year-old shared the stage with Issahaku and stated in his acceptance speech that the new generation of Ghanaian footballers looks to create strong team bonding.
‘As part of the new generation, one of my aims is to increase the love among us,’ he said.
The Footballer of the Year Award was his second award of the night after he walked home with the Goal of the Year Award for his goal against Freiburg.
The West Ham United man had an astonishing debut season at his new club, scoring 14 goals and providing 6 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.
He has now become the second player to win the Footballer of the Year award twice, after Thomas Partey.
