Every University has their own rules and regulations that as a student you should follow. These rules are to guide the path of students so that after their completion they can be fully absorbed and accepted in the society. Failure to follow these rules leads to a punishment which most university spell out to their students.
Earlier today, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology authorities have released a list of students who have been punished for going astray to the rules and regulations of the school. The crime according to the school authorities they have committed are stated in the communique with the appropriate sanction given.
See picture below;
In the picture released, the first student who is Mr Rexford Joseph Bonney is said to have involved himself in the “enstoolment of Odikro”. Odikro in the Unity Hall is more or less the oracle of the hall. It is considered an offense in the University to enstool someone as “Odikro”. Mr Bonney who involved himself in this illegal act has therefore been rusticated for two academic years.
The second student, Mr Baffour Owusu Konadu has also been rusticated for the offense of bring the name of the university to public disdain. The punishment may sound so harsh but that’s what the authorities of the school gave to him.
The third person was given a indefinite suspension for extorting monies from students who were in search of hostels. He took monies from these students and promised them he was going to secure room for them at the SRC Hostel. He took the money without doing what he promised them.
Mr Dwumah Ramsay Ohene-Tutu is the last culprit who has also suffered a punishment of dismissal. Ramsay is said to have stolen two laptops from the University library.
Though it saddens the heart of many students to see their colleagues dismissed or rusticated but what they should keep in their minds is that, every institution has rules and regulations and therefore has to be seriously obeyed.
